Infant School
Nursery and Reception (2 1/2 to 5 year olds)
The Infant School, for 2 1/2 to 7 year old children, in located at our Dolinskeho site.
Our bright, child-centred Nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment for children from 2 1/2 to 4 years of age. Children aged between 4 and 5 years enter our Reception class.
Nursery and Reception children are provided with excellent resources for play and learning, including computers and numerous Early Years play and learn programmes. Through the medium of creative play and more structured activities, children are introduced to the basics of learning and socialising within a caring environment. As they develop their skills, we increase the opportunities for them to flourish. We provide facilities for children to develop their language and social skills, creatively explore and represent their environment and learn pre-number, reading and writing skills. The independence of every child is encouraged, whilst also making each aware and respectful of the differences and needs of others.
All children in Nursery and Reception have lessons in art, music, drama and physical education. There is also swimming at a local pool during part of the year, where specialist swimming instructors teach the children. Through the course of the school year, children participate in school productions for parents and friends.
Years 1 and 2 (5 to 7 year olds)
