The British International School, Bratislava was established in September 1997 by Nord Anglia Education Ltd. The school opened with just 42 pupils and today we teach over 600, representing more than 40 different nationalities. International Schools
Nord Anglia have been operating International Schools since 1992, when the British School, Warsaw was opened. Since then the company has expanded into several markets and now teaches over 4,000 pupils globally, employing more than 700 teachers.
There are currently 7 international schools: Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Shanghai (three) and Warsaw and International Kindergartens in Ningbo (China) and Seoul. All of the International Schools are accredited centres for both the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) qualifications. The schools are fee paying co-educational day schools that offer a British Style education delivered by (mainly) fully qualified British educated teachers. Each school's Curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England, adapted country by country to meet local culture and conditions.
The British International School, Budapest
Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in central Europe. The school has recently moved to a brand new purpose built school in the Kiscelli area of the city. There are over 450 pupils at the school from over 40 different nationalities.
The school offers an international curriculum to meet the needs of the rapidly growing, diverse community of Budapest. Education is provided in English, based on the National Curriculum of England, for children aged 3 to 18. The English International School, Prague
The English International School, Prague moved into its brand new state-of-the-art campus in September 2007. This new campus has increased capacity to 600 pupils and there are currently over 325 pupils at the school. The new campus was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne, who also presented prizes at the inaugural indoor cricket tournament. The school is an accredited centre able to offer IGCSEs at 16, and this year has started to teach the IB.

The British International Pre School, Seoul (BIPS)
The British International Pre School, Seoul was opened in March 2007 and has a capacity for 250 pupils. Teaching Korean children ages 2 to 5, the school uses the National Curriculum of England, which has been enhanced with elements of the Korean Early Years Curriculum.

The British International School, Shanghai
The British International School in Shanghai operates on three campuses in the city, Pudong and Puxi and the brand new campus in Nanxiang.
The Pudong Campus
The Pudong campuses recently expanded, providing state-of-the-art facilities and increasing capacity to 1,500 places. The new state-of-the-art facilities include: Teaching accommodation for a further 650 pupils, Theatre and performance hall, A 25 metre swimming pool, Indoor sports hall and New outdoor sports facilities. The Puxi Campus
The Puxi Campus was opened in September 2005 and the school now has over 900 pupils. The Nanxiang Campus
The brand new campus of the British International School, Shanghai opened in Nanxiang in September 2007. The state-of-the-art facility has a capacity of 1,200 pupils and is 40 minutes outside Shanghai city centre. The British School, Warsaw
The British School in Warsaw was Nord Anglia Education's first international school. It is an international nursery, primary and secondary school, catering for over 650 pupils from 2 - 18 drawn from more than 50 nationalities. The school is based over two sites in Warsaw. Children aged 2 - 6 are learning in an Early Years Centre in Dabrowskiego. Children aged 7 - 18 are educated in Limanowskiego. Both sites are close to the city centre in Warsaw's southern suburbs.
The school's programmes follow the National Curriculum of England, with end of KS1 Tests at age 7 and end of KS2 Tests at age 11.
